We are looking for a Private Client Solicitor - Legal Executive to join our experienced and expanding Private Client team at our office in Shifnal and to contribute to our continued success within the region. The ideal candidate must possess sound technical expertise across all aspects of Wills, Estate Administration and Powers of Attorney. Expertise in the areas of Taxation, Trusts and Court of Protection would be advantageous but not essential and the successful candidate must be confident working independently with a minimum supervision. In this role, other senior lawyers and experience support staff members will support the successful candidate. Job Title: Experienced Conveyancing Solicitor

The Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Conveyancing Solicitor to join our Newport team. You will manage your own caseload of residential (and, where applicable, commercial) property transactions from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and firm procedures at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on all aspects of residential and/or commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
Draft and negotiate contract documentation, reports to clients and completion statements.
Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors and third parties to progress matters efficiently.
Supervise and mentor paralegals and conveyancing assistants, delegating tasks and reviewing their work.
Ensure strict compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations and the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).
Meet departmental targets for fee income, billing and collections.
Person Specification
Qualification: Admitted as a Solicitor of England & Wales, with valid SRA practising certificate.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing; commercial experience an advantage.
Technical Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the conveyancing process and associated legal and regulatory requirements (CQS accreditation desirable).

The Role:
You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our busy residential conveyancing team. This is a key role where attention to detail, organisation, and client care are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and managing correspondence, legal documents, and forms
Handling telephone and email enquiries from clients, solicitors, and other third parties
Managing diaries, arranging meetings, and maintaining file management systems
Conducting online searches and completing Land Registry forms
Assisting with post-completion tasks and dealing with SDLT submissions
Providing general administrative support to the conveyancing fee earners
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven experience in a similar conveyancing secretary or legal support role
Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A professional and friendly telephone manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
