Conveyancing Paralegal – Newport

An opportunity has become available for a full-time experienced Paralegal to join our busy Residential Conveyancing Department at our new office in Newport, Shropshire.
You must have at least 2 years experience working as a conveyancing paralegal or legal assistant in a busy and demanding environment.
You will be working on all aspects of residential conveyancing from instruction through to completion so it is essential you can demonstrate previous experience and sound technical knowledge. This is a full-time position and salary will depend on experience.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to: –
- Providing high-quality legal support to the Conveyancing fee earner in the department
- Liaising with other solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers etc. on a day to day basis to deal with straightforward non-technical queries and to take clear messages as appropriate where the fee earner’s involvement may be required and recording in writing on files details of all contact.
- Communicating with clients over the telephone, by email and face to face meetings.
- Providing prospective clients with estimates.
- Preparation of contracts and bundles of supporting documentation on sale matters.
- Dealing with pre-contract enquiries.
- Requisitioning standard searches on purchase matters.
- Assisting the fee earner in preparing reports to clients.
- Preparing standard correspondence and supporting documentation at exchange of Contracts.
- Dealing with all pre–completion matters including preparation of bills and financial statements.
- Administering completions.
- Dealing with SDLT forms and payments.
- Preparing and submitting applications for registration to the Land Registry and dealing with requisitions.
- Preparing, drafting and proof-reading documentation as required.
- Forming part of the reception lunchtime cover rota.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA, Law Society Quality Scheme Standards, and accounting requirements.
- You may also be required to work at one of the other offices of the Firm from time to time.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Residential Conveyancing role
- Freehold and Leasehold sales and purchases, both registered and unregistered
- In-depth knowledge of the conveyancing process.

An opportunity has become available for a full-time experienced legal secretary to join our busy Residential Conveyancing Department at our new office in Newport, Shropshire.
You must have at least 6 months experience working as a conveyancing secretary in a busy and demanding environment.
You will be working on all aspects of residential conveyancing from instruction through to completion so it is essential you can demonstrate a good knowledge of the conveyancing process, Land Registry portal and mortgage lender portals. This is a full-time position and salary will depend on experience.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to: –
- Being the first point of contact for all clients in person and on the telephone.
- File opening and closing in accordance with the firm’s client care and accounting procedures.
- Scanning and filing incoming post and documentation.
- Liaising with clients, other solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers etc. on a day to day basis to deal with straightforward non-technical queries and to take clear messages as appropriate where the fee earner’s involvement may be required and recording in writing on files details of all contact.
- Audio typing, sending out letters, emails, faxes etc.
- Photocopying, printing and scanning.
- Preparing, drafting and amending documents (from audio dictation).
- Preparation of contracts and bundles of supporting documentation on sale matters.
- Requisitioning standard searches on purchase matters.
- Preparing general correspondence in letter and email format.
- Preparing standard correspondence and supporting documentation at exchange of Contracts.
- Dealing with all pre–completion matters including preparation of bills and financial statements.
- Requesting cheques, bank transfers and paying in money received, as appropriate.
- General administration.
- Administering completions and preparing applications for registration for submission to the Land Registry.

- Providing reception cover from time to time.
- Archiving of files.
- Undertake any other duties that may be necessary and/or appropriate to the role.

Experience:

Private Client / Probate Solicitor – Shifnal
Parry Carver Solicitors is a well-regarded, extremely friendly firm with offices in Wellington, Shifnal and Newport, are currently seeking a Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 1 year’s post qualification experience to join their well-established practice.
As a Probate Fee Earner you will manage a varied estate administration caseload end to end with a focus on client care. You will thrive on the challenge of dealing with matters on time, to the highest standards and in line with regulatory, mandatory, and legal requirements.
Collaborating with a variety of teams throughout the business, you will need strong communication skills and the ability to quickly build a rapport with customers. You will be highly organised and IT literate with an eye for detail along with a deep understanding of probate and estate administration principles. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience of having run their own caseload.
